Voornes Proeftuin was founded in 1906 ....!
A testing ground was set up at this location on Heveringseweg to show gardeners on the island of Voorne new sowing and cutting methods, other pruning methods and many more activities to restore horticulture. Around 1936, the crisis years, the Proeftuin was sold to the first generation Snaijer, who grew vegetables on it.
The second generation de Snaijer turned it into a flourishing nursery and a selling point for flowers: the third generation Broer en Zus are now continuing that.
